Crack inside and outside the field of play. The footballer from Tenerife has sponsored a sustainable project that will be carried out at the club in his town, Tegueste, which aims to reduce the use of plastics. Together with him, two of the fundamental pieces for the signing of the solidarity agreement have been the Club Deportivo Aliron Football Base Tegueste (CDAFB Tegueste) and the Kick Out Plastic Foundation.
Pedri has presented this project to the world accompanied by a representation of the children of the grassroots football of their hometown, their parents and a delegation from the Tegueste City Council: “For me it is a tremendous pride that Kick Out Plastic collaborates with my town and with the club where I started playing as a child. When they proposed the initiative to me, I said yes without hesitation”, assured Pedri.
This act has also been the key moment to present the professional water dispenser that Kick Out Plastic has installed in the premises of the Ciudad Deportiva Los Laureles, for the use of players, coaching staff and the public when they are using the playing fields. Thus, an attempt will be made to eliminate the use of single-use plastic bottles, since thanks to the dispenser they will be able to have a longer useful life with the more than 400 reusable bottles delivered by the club.
Jose Eladio Ramospresident of the CDAFB Tegueste, has said that it is “a great day” because Pedri “accompanies them to share a commitment to the future” of the planet, which is to “reduce plastic waste”.
Ana Menamayor of Tegueste, commented that the footballer’s support for initiatives like this “reflects very well how Tegueste is, a highly sensitive and pioneering town in terms of sustainability.”
