Aside from the reversal of negotiations, dozens of CPEs in the Montreal and Laval region will be affected by the four-day strike, starting May 3.
Sixty Early Childhood Centers (
CPE), which manages 83 installations, should be affected. The women’s union
CPE of Montreal and Laval, attached to CSN, has already given itself a 10 -day strike order to be carried out at the appropriate time. Therefore, May 3 is the first of four consecutive days of strike. The hope remains, however, as a final reconciliation meeting will take place on Thursday between the management and union parties.
By announcing these days of strike, even before the last opportunity meeting was held, the union wanted to increase pressure on the employers ’association. The strike could then be canceled if there was an unblocking during the conciliation meeting.
Last winter, there was actually an agreement on the renewal of collective agreements, at the national level, with union organizations representing workers in
CPE. However, the respective employers ’associations, in Montreal and Laval, did not sit at the national bargaining table. Therefore, he wants to negotiate his own collective agreement.Source: Radio-Canada
