The Action boréale forest preservation promotion group has issued formal notice to the Minister of Forests, Wildlife and Parks of Quebec, Pierre Dufour, for damage to the organization’s reputation.
The group accused the minister of repeated lies to the media to discredit the organization and its president.
The action boréale cited two specific occasions when the minister acted in this way, the first in November last golden morning broadcast on ICI Première and another in a report broadcast on April 9 on the show green week on Radio-Canada television.
The minister is said to have exaggerated the position of the organization, which resulted in giving a bad statement to the group, considering that it was being treated. as anti-forestry, who want to close factories and cause job losses in so-called forest regions.
Action boréale denies these allegations. He remembered that his mandate was try to improve forest skills adapted to today’s reality.
The organization and its president Henri Jacob are asking Minister Pierre Dufour to retract and publicly correct the facts.
