François Legault had to find another candidate in Montérégie.
CAQ MP for Huntingdon, Claire IsaBelle, will not run again. He made the announcement Friday afternoon in a press release and on Facebook.
The parliamentarian will retire after completing a term.
Before him, five other caquists have confirmed they are not in the starting lineup this fall, Suzanne Dansereau (Verchères), Marguerite Blais (Prévost), Danielle McCann (Sanguinet), Denis Tardif (Rivière-du-Loup– Témiscouata) and Emilie Foster (Charlevoix – Côte-de-Beaupré).
The electoral division of Huntingdon is located south-west of Montérégie. It includes 30 municipalities, including the city of the same name.
In 2018, Ms. IsaBelle was elected with 37.4% of the vote thanks to a lead of less than 600 votes to her Liberal opponent, outgoing MP Stéphane Billette.
More details are next.
