If women go here and they need it, it is definitely a service that can be offered to themhe assured in an interview on the show power at Politicson the CBC News Network. I don’t see why we wouldn’t.

These comments came as news sites Politico on Monday released a copy of the draft opinion written by conservative Judge Samuel Alito, a Republican -appointed magistrate.

This opinion suggests that the majority of judges were prepared to overturn Roe v. Wade-the important decision allowing legal abortions in the United States-and referred the matter to state legislatures.

The document states that the 1973 decision was constitutionally questionable and too wrong at first because his reasoning is exceptionally low.

The opinion argues that decades -old decisions – which essentially decided that the right to privacy extends to reproductive options such as abortion – had disastrous consequenceswhich divides the country into anti-abortion and pro-choice factions and removes the power of state legislators to oversee the work.

In recent years, many Republican -governed states have passed abortion restrictions as well as laws that would take effect and automatically ban abortions if the Supreme Court allows it.

If Roe v. Canceled Wade, abortion is likely to remain legal in so -called “liberal” states. More than a dozen of these states have passed laws protecting the right to abortion.

California has even stated that it will do everything in its power to accept American women who want an abortion and has no right to do so in the state where they live if the Supreme Court decides.

Said Judy Chu, a Democratic U.S. Representative from California power at Politics that his state already sees women crossing the border from Texas to have abortions – a practice he says will only increase if Roe v. Wade canceled.

There is already a marked increase. Have you ever wondered if 26 states have banned abortion [d’un coup]? he says. Yes, surely there are women going to Canada, Mexico and other states who support abortion.

Concerns for Canadian Women

Whatever happens, Canada will remain open to American women wishing to have an abortion, Minister Gould is also concerned that the cancellation of Roe v. What Wade means is for Canadian women who want to benefit from such services on the other side of the border.

One of the concerns here is that many Canadian women do not live near a large city in Canada, but often access these services in the United States.he explained.

I was very worried about the leak yesterday. I am very worried about what this means, especially for American women, but also for Canadian women.

A quote from Karina Gould, Canadian Minister of Families, Children and Social Development

The issue of abortion has been the subject of much political debate in Canada over the past decades – especially within the conservative camp.

In 1989, the government of former prime minister Brian Mulroney notably tried to restrict access to abortion after R. c. Morgentaler from the Supreme Court of Canada, but his bill was nearly defeated by the Senate.

Currently, there is no federal law governing abortion.

In this context, the former leaders of the Conservative Party of Canada – Stephen Harper, Andrew Scheer and Erin O’Toole – have often disputed their position on this sensitive issue, and their opponents have at every opportunity been caught. on the opportunity to try. to make the ambiguity of them an electoral issue.
