The minister wants to move on. Interviewed about her statements directed at homosexuals, Caroline Cayeux dismissed the question outright, saying “the issue is closed”, during a trip Thursday to a nursing home in Crépy-en-Valois, in the Oise.
“I work, period”, the Delegate Minister in Charge of Territorial Communities answered first, wanting to shorten the questions on the subject.
“I answered him, I apologized, so the issue is closed for me,” he added later.
A complaint against X filed
Saying that she was “at work”, the minister indicated that she did not want to talk about “legal procedure”, while six LGBT+ associations filed a complaint against X for “public insults towards a group of people because of their sexual orientation by a custodian of public order”, we learned on Wednesday.
The complaint was filed on July 13, according to information from BFMTV. Stop Homophobia, Mousse, LGBT Sports, LGBT Education, LGBT Families and Adheos are among the associations involved.
Caught up in comments hostile to the opening of marriage to same-sex couples in 2013, Caroline Cayeux recently stood by her statements, claiming to have “many friends among these people”, before backing down and apologizing. Asked about the subject, Elisabeth Borne said: “Now things are clear.”
