The deputies approved the Purchasing Power Law. This text, which was a test for the private presidential field of the absolute majority in the Assembly, must respond both to inflation and to the energy crisis caused by the war in Ukraine. Now it must be complemented with a finance reform bill, whose examination begins on Friday at 3:00 p.m. with, on the menu, highly questioned measures such as the abolition of the audiovisual license fee.

Deputies approve purchasing power law, after long electrical debates

This is the news of the night. Shortly before six in the evening, the deputies voted on the bill “on emergency measures for the protection of purchasing power”. 341 elected officials voted in favor of this text, 116 against.

Started on Monday, the examination of this bill turned from Thursday to Friday night into fistfights and a chaotic debate that escalated around energy issues. At the beginning of this week, several measures were adopted: the increase in the ceiling of the Macron bonus, the deconjugation of the disabled adult subsidy or the revaluation of 4% of pensions and social benefits.
