Elisabeth Borne announced this Thursday the creation of an ambassador position for LGBT+ rights. She will be appointed before the end of the year and will coordinate the action of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs for the protection against discrimination and the promotion of LBGT + rights in the world.
“He will defend the universal criminalization of homosexuality and transidentity,” he added.
This job creation responds to the fact that “LGBT+ rights have been questioned all over the world, especially in Europe in recent years”.
A fund of three million euros
The President of the Government also announced the creation of a fund of three million euros to create ten new LGBT+ centers in France and reinforce the 35 that already exist.
“We want there to be two centers in each region and one center in each overseas region”, specifies Élisabeth Borne.
“There are still steps to be taken” in the fight against homophobia and “the battle of mentalities has not been won,” he concludes.
