Emmanuel Macron will visit Algeria from August 25 to 27

The Elysee announced that the visit will aim at bilateral relations between the two states.

French President Emmanuel Macron will visit Algeria from August 25 to 27, the Elysee Palace announced this Saturday, a visit aimed at relaunching the partnership between the two countries after several months of crisis.

“This trip will contribute to deepening the bilateral relationship for the future (…) to strengthen Franco-Algerian cooperation in the face of regional problems and to continue the work of healing memory,” declared the French presidency after a telephone conversation between the French President and his counterpart Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

The French head of state also presented his “condolences” to his counterpart, as well as to “all the Algerian people and the families and relatives of the victims of the terrible fires of recent days.” Always according to the presidency, Emmanuel Macron informed his counterpart of the “availability of France to provide Algeria with land and air resources” to deal with the fires.
