The deputies of the Renaissance group announced on Tuesday the presentation of a resolution “condemning the crime of aggression, in the sense of the International Criminal Court, of which Russia is guilty against Ukraine.”
This resolution, which will be presented on Wednesday on the occasion of Ukraine’s national holiday, “will be submitted to the vote of the deputies,” specifies a press release from the group.
“With their vote, each political group, each deputy will have the opportunity to clearly state their position,” said the group’s leader, Aurore Bergé, for whom “it is a matter of absolutely necessary political clarity.”
Convocation of an expert mission to Zaporizhia
With this resolution, the Renaissance deputies “call for the reinforcement of European sanctions” and “to continue the French contribution to allow international justice to deal with the crimes and abuses committed by Russia”.
They also call for “the deployment of an expert mission from the International Atomic Energy Agency to the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, as well as to all nuclear facilities in Ukraine.”
