A climatologist invited to speak to ministers

According to Executive sources, the ministers were going to decline this Wednesday, site by site, the action they lead. At the top of the State, we thus evoke a “moment of information and coordination” between the members of the government.

The executive was also going to listen to a presentation by climatologist Valérie Masson-Delmotte, a member of the IPCC, invited at the initiative of Emmanuel Macron.

When exchanging with this renowned expert, “it is about each minister being able to understand what is at stake, even if the climate is not directly within the powers of his ministry,” explains the president’s entourage.

After a brief council of ministers, this first seminar of the second five-year period began in the morning with the 42 members of the Government, including the deputy ministers and secretaries of State.

This long meeting in the Elysee town hall should allow “structuring the big projects” for the start of the school year, the Head of State explained last week, citing energy, work, security and financial and budgetary issues. He also demanded a “very strong unity” from the government after a series of controversies during the summer.
