The game had not yet been officially suspended, but in fact it was. Hundreds of frightened people, hit by the tear gas that the Buenos Aires police released in the forest of La Plata, along with the rain of rubber bullets. What happened? There were more people in the stands than the capacity to contain him and many in the street, with legitimate tickets and great doubt: the club has resold the tickets or the police operation could not avoid the “chaste”.

Beyond the conjectures, there is a concrete fact that has the Police in its target, which ordered the entrances to the stadium to be closed so that people who, even with the ticket in hand, had remained outside could not enter. But even the people who were decomposing inside could not leave: if the public wanted to leave the stadium, the tragedy of Gate 12 would repeat itself.

“Leave it to anyone. The responsibility lies with whoever organizes the event”indicated the Minister of Security of the province of Buenos Aires, Sergio Berniniin an interview with the TN signal, a few minutes after landing in La Plata, where he arrived by helicopter.

The head of the Agency for the Prevention of Violence in Sport (Aprevide), Eduardo Aparicioestimated that the number of people who attempted to enter the stadium with their tickets when the capacity was already full, amounted to 8 thousand.

“The information we all have is that there were problems getting in, a lot of fans wanting to get in without tickets. I want to see what happens to order this casino.”Minister Berni had managed to say, before entering a television studio, that a few minutes later he had left to arrive by helicopter right at the stadium.

At the same time, the mayor of La Plata was consulted, Giulio Garrowho initially indicated the management of Gimnasia for having used their stadium in place of the Ciudad de La Plata.

“It is difficult for me to understand how these events do not take place in the Single Stadium. It is a bit surprising, they are things that can be planned and foreseen. But our city has one of the best stadiums in South America, it is a place with a lot more capacity, ”Garr pointed out.

“This is not Gimnasia or Boca’s fault, but we live in a society with a lot of violence. I understand that this has to do with planning and things are much better,” he added.

While some Aprevide officials tried to determine the performance of the planned operation, others exchanged calls and answered leaders about the possibility of completing the match on Friday.
