After undergoing surgery on his face for a fractured jaw, on 12 September at the Finochietto sanatorium, Aliendro had a couple of weeks of total sports rest, before starting his recovery work.

These activities, as reported in Clarione from River’s coaching staff, include, for now, aerobic exercises on a stationary bike, treadmill or field jogging. Strength in the gym too. And although he touched the ball with his feet to feel it again and encourage himself to play a little game without picking it up, he obviously doesn’t do anything that could generate a risk of impact.

He is very, very well and has worked well with the physical exercises. And so far it hasn’t had any complications, ”one of the club’s medical staff members told this newspaper. And he added: “According to the evolution time, contact and / or ball work is still risky and this will be incorporated based on the evaluation checks carried out by the surgeon who operated on it”.

In any case, they also stated that since the midfielder will return to work normally in the preseason, from that moment (beginning of January) he will no longer need special care because almost four months have passed since the fracture, and that deadline is within the time. established for the healing of fractured bones.

With the floor of the orbit fractured and the malar cheekbone near the side of the sunken nose, the 31-year-old pilot had the structures fixed with titanium microplates and micro-screws, which served as a link between the damaged part and the healthy part. So they reduced the fracture and put the bones in its place after being in the operating room for two and a half hours, after the hard fight suffered with Alan Varela, Boca midfielder, who after committing a foul accidentally hit one of his knees. with the face of the River player.

Aliendro had entered the playing field of the Bombonera for the start of the second half. But just 25 minutes later he had to leave the field for that unfortunate action. It was a quick play, where after the impact with Varela’s knee, he lay down on the grass, required immediate medical attention, and started bleeding.

When he got up and came to the bench with cotton balls in his nostrils, Aliendro was already with the face of a boxer that he had been knocked out: his right eye and nose were completely inflamed. “don’t take me out”he managed to tell Gallardo, who grabbed him, made him sit down and immediately called Agustín Palavecino to enter the field.

Ten minutes later, the game had to be interrupted so much that the injured cart crossed the field to River’s substitute bench and carried Aliendro, who was dizzy, into the locker room. Y Boca has made available its medical equipment for a computed tomography to be performed in the changing rooms.

There it was discovered that he had a fracture in his right malar and had to be transferred to the Finochietto sanatorium, where he was operated on the next day in the night. The medical report indicated that Aliendro had sustained a fracture of the facial mass with sinking of the malar and compromising the floor of the orbit.

Gradually that story is left behind only as a bad memory. Aliendro has already begun his recovery and his face is much better as there are virtually no traces of that hard impact that could have caused far more damage than it did. Meanwhile at the River they are waiting for him so that in 2023 he can show off in the middle of the field the talent for which they went to look for him in the middle of this year to be one of the reinforcements of the market of the last passes.
