In Serbian lands, a Chinese citizen was the protagonist of a very violent situation that went around the world. The protagonist, by name WL, he savagely beat his 14-year-old daughter and had to give explanations before the First Attorney General of Belgrade. Although he wasn’t seen as sorry for his actions, the decision was that he had to face a preventive jail.
The happy little episode had space in the club Crvena Zvezda, as WL is a tennis coach and his daughter is one of his students. In his statement, WL expressed his arguments about the reasons that led him to beat his daughter so violently and stated that his intention was not to hurt the young woman, but that she would train again. Although he did not deny what is clearly seen in the video, he did not show remorse or feel that his actions were incorrect, as he justified himself by stating that in his homeland it is common to beat children who do not respect hierarchies.
“I think I have acted correctly because in China it is allowed”were the words of the Chinese coach. However, the court concludes WL’s pre-trial detention because it believes there is a risk of absconding and for the public unrest it caused by exercising physical violence the way it did.
