Argentina will host Powerchair Football’s Sudamericana and Libertadores

Argentina will host major events for motorized wheelchair football. In November, the APFC Sudamericana Vrio and the APFC Libertadores of this sport will be played in the country with the presence of clubs and national teams from Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay.

On the 16th and 17th (from 10:00 to 18:00) the 6th edition of the APFC Libertadores will take place, in which the teams Deportivo Montevideo (Uruguay), Fortaleza PowerSoccer (Brazil), Huracán de Carrasco (Uruguay), Rio de Janeiro PowerSoccer they will face each other (Brazil), Tigres de Pacheco (Argentina) and Titanes de Córdoba (Argentina). While on the 18th the national teams of Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay will compete for APFC Sudamericana Vrio.

The event will take place at the CeNARD High Performance Sports Center with free admission. Additionally, it has the support of Vrio Corp, a company that sponsors the event.

The PowerChair Football Argentina Foundation is dedicated to the development of motorized wheelchair football in Argentina with the aim of integrating people with motor disabilities into sports to promote their social inclusion. Created in 2012, it has 9 offices located in Chivilcoy, Córdoba, La Pampa, La Plata, Mar del Plata, Neuquén, Pacheco, Rosario and Villa María.

The event will be shared on social networks with the hashtags #SOMOSPOWER and #CAMBIANDOVIDAS. And full production will be borne by WFG, a leading company in Argentina for the production of sporting events.

What is wheelchair football?

Since its arrival in Argentina in 2012, Powerchair Football has been looking for those who practice it to change roles and move from spectators to protagonists.

How to play?

From 4 players, mixed and without age limits. By rules and methodology it is a sport similar to conventional football, but with the difference that the players who play it are people who use the motorized wheelchairs they use in their daily life.
