The Justice of Qatar, in the context of a hearing, asked for a new extension of 30 days to continue with the preventive investigation into the cause of the money laundering through a fake real estate agency that rented out properties for the World Cup.

Rodolfo Baqué, the lawyer of Martínez, known as the “Primo Fan” for his activities on social networks, confirmed the decision of the Justice of Qatar.

“We will continue to work every week for try to shorten these 30 days. The lawyer from the Qatari firm told me there could be news every week,” said Baqué, who represents Martínez through a Qatari law firm.

Both Martínez and Aimar Chiesa have been detained in Qatar since 12 October since -according to them- they would have been cheated by a criminal gang who used a real estate agency to launder money.

Martínez has lived in Doha since May 3 when he settled as a tourist after spending his honeymoon in Egypt, while Aimar Chiesa has been there for more than a year and a half and already had actual residence.

Both had the dream of experiencing the World Cup in Qatar and they had been renting out properties through this alleged real estate agency for family and friends They were going to the World Cup.

The two Argentines are being held with the rest of the defendants and have already spent the first eight days of the investigation in prison and then the 30 days that the prosecutor had requested in the first instance.
