Who says one, says two and if there’s room, three enter: Institute got the second promotion to the Professional soccer league and joined belgranian -who had been the champion of National premiere-Y workshops, who goes for the ninth consecutive season in the elite. After 16 years of absence in the First Division, the Instituto has made the leap again. Thus, apart from the overcrowded metropolitan area of Buenos Aires, Cordoba becomes the second province with most representations, being first Santa Fe, with four: Union, Colon and rosaries Newell’s Y Central.

commanded by Luca Bovaglio. Instituto achieved their second promotion after trying to fight for the league title with Belgrano, who ended up going to Pirata nine points ahead of Glory.

Without figures of weight and with a roster made up of a few players with a touch in the top category, the Instituto made its way into the tournament by finishing second and allowed it to join the decisive instances of the Ridotto which ended up catapulting it into the First Division.

The experience is condensed Jorge Carranzathe goalkeeper who already had him under the three sticks of La Gloria in the First Division, something that an entire generation of fans did not experience.

How do you explain the increase? Instituto were an experienced side, who led home and away, but never lost at home. The only six falls during the regular tournament were on the road. Of those half dozen defeats, one was against Belgrano and it was a turning point: if it had been a victory, the Institute believes they could have wrested the title from Pirate.

Got a flashy game? Not really. But “everyone puts in” and in this way they balance the shortcomings of collective creation. Santiago Rodríguez was the one who raised the game average in a team where DT stands out: he was able to put together an austere team and stop him on the pitch with a notable feature, that they haven’t scored many goals against him, especially when playing at home.

This institute will not have illustrious names such as José Luis Saldaño (who played for Boca); Osvaldo Ardiles (who also did it in Huracán and with a great career in English football); the immense Mario Kempes (Valencia, River) or Alberto Beltrán (River, Gimnasia and Belgrano), but a new generation of players has engraved their name in history, as those responsible for the return of the Instituto to the top category.
