Moments of violence were experienced this Saturday in the stands of the Lusail stadium where Argentine and Mexican fans took shots in the middle of the match.
The episode took place while the match between Argentina and Mexico was still being played, who were fighting for victory in the second round of the group stage of the World Cup.
It was a match whose previous one had already been marked by charges between the two fans, which generated a climate of tension that increased when the ball began to roll onto the pitch.
A few minutes after the start, after insistent chicanes from the Mexicans to the Argentines and vice versa, those who cheered on Lionel Scaloni’s team reacted and the fight began.
The event was recorded in several videos that were recorded by those present at the scene. In them you can see how an Argentinian fan tries to hit a Mexican fan.
Several spectators quickly intercede and try to stop the fight which lasted a few seconds.
However, the allegations continued and the tense atmosphere near the Qatar stadium continued to escalate until the last minute of the match.
As they stated a clarion Argentinian fans present at Lusail, “there is no possibility that there are no accidents whatever the final result.”
“There are open fronts everywhere, always,” they said, describing the situation there.
The Mexican chicanes that warmed up the pre-game
The first encounters between Mexicans and Argentines since the start of Qatar 2022 had begun after Argentina’s surprise defeat against Saudi Arabia, on their debut.
After losing 2-1, the official TNT Sports account in Mexico taunted by making a “joke” by touching a weak point: Lionel Messi.
“Lionel Messi is wanted. 35 years old. He was last seen in the 10th minute of the match between Argentina and Saudi Arabia, in Lusail,” they posted with an image of the attacker as a “ghost.”
Adding to this publication were statements from Argentine and Mexican international Rogelio Funes Mori, who said that in the event of a match and a goal against Argentina, he would celebrate it “with a mad cry”.
Faced with the hypothetical scenario of scoring a goal against Albiceleste, he explained: “Surely – I would exult – with a crazy scream, it would be a dream for me to score a goal in a World Cup and doing it against Argentina would be very beautiful.”
In the end, the Mendoza striker did not enter the full 90 minutes, but at the end of the match which the Argentina national team finally won 2-0, his statements became the first to be remembered on social media.
