A little less than 24 hours after the vote, lThe Inspectorate General of Justice (IGJ) on Friday suspended the presidential elections that should have been held this Saturday in San Lorenzo de Almagro, in stating that there are irregularities in the early convocation that was supposed to elect a new president in the midst of the political crisis that the Boedo cadre is going through.
According to a resolution published on Friday morningthe IGJ argued that the extraordinary session on 18 August this year was “irregular”. There the request for early elections had been decided. According to the Justice, no indications were provided that allow us to understand the reasons for this decision.
Tomorrow’s elections would have been held early after pressure from fans, furious with the management carried out by the current Board of Directors. It was led by Marcelo Tinelli and Horacio Arreceygor, who had won the elections in December 2019.
However, after several licenses, the TV host resigned this year. Arreceygor, leader of the Television Union, took the lead and overcame the political crisis with the assistance of the Minister of Tourism, Matías Lammens, but the discontent of the fans forced the call for early elections.
In total, about five lists were presented, including pro-government, para-government and opposition. The idols have also entered politics: Sebastián Torrico and Néstor Ortigoza, recently retired, had agreed to participate in some of the spaces that contested the vote of the fans this Saturday.
On social networks, anger has turned against Lammens, Tinelli and the members of the current board of directors.
