The day after the great celebration for Argentina’s consecration to the World Cup in Qatar, the coach of the selected team, Lionel Scalonihe thanked the fans for their support and assured it they were “player number 12” for the team.
“The dream of all Argentines has come true, forever grateful, thrilled to see them happy. You were player number 12,” Scaloni wrote on his Instagram account accompanying the drone-captured image of the crowd surrounding the micro convertible carrying the selected player.
The manager’s message, much praised and celebrated by the fans in the comments, was taken up with humor by some Boca fans who, ironically, pointed out that Scaloni’s words concealed a reference to “when I was little”, as he said in more from an interview, he was a fan of xeneize.
Indeed, last November, when he was already installed at the AFA headquarters in Ezeiza waiting to travel to meet the team, Scaloni revealed in a ping pong chat with TyC Sports that as a boy he liked Boca.
“When I was little I was from Boca, as the days of Newell went on and now dand none because you lose your fanaticism completely,” he said in that interview.
The technician, not very active on social media, had published a photo with his wife in the moments following the consecration against France at the Lusail stadium and another, shortly after, with the members of his technical staff.
New in development.
