After being received by more than 5 million Argentines who invaded the streets of Buenos Airesthe recognition of the players of the Argentine national team does not stand still, and now it was the turn of Alexis MacAllister. The midfielder earned a place in Lionel Scaloni’s eleven in the middle of the World Cup, even ending up being one of the fundamental pieces of the consecration. The pampas midfielder returned to Santa Rosa, where he comes from, and received a tribute to the height organized by the government. The man from Brighton organized a caravan in which all the inhabitants of the town could come and share a moment with the new champion. With her medal hanging and a World Cup replica in her arms, Alexis began the tour, which would conclude with a meeting with the governor Sergio Raúl Ziliotto.

The midfielder toured the streets of the Pampas aboard a truck decorated with Argentine flags, and from there he autographed and gave away several Argentina national team shirts. But not only that, he also took several photos, signed some jackets and even sent some greetings. Meanwhile in Santa Rosa it was raining heavily, but this didn’t dampen the celebrations, far from it.

The midfielder who came out of Argentinos Juniors, who also had a short spell in Boca, spoke to TN and expressed: “It is a great pride and emotion for me to be able to enjoy it with my family, with the people of this province who support me at all times.. We managed to be world champions. We will have much more fun over the years. It’s great to see their support, I’ve received so many messages.”

Lionel Scaloni, awarded in Pujato

“I’ll sign them and take pictures with everyone”. The promise came from the mouth of Lionel Scaloni due to the large number of children waiting for him under the small stage set up in the center of his hometown, Pujato, where he returned after leading the Argentine national team to the World Cup title in Qatar. “I thought I already cried all over”added the 44-year-old coach, accompanied by “Chichita”, one of his childhood teachers.

A few minutes earlier he had traveled in a caravan, much less crowded but more orderly than the one that had lived in the city of Buenos Aires 24 hours earlier, which had to stop abruptly due to overflowing in various passages. The prodigal son of this small town of just over 4,000 inhabitants located 40 kilometers from Rosario, in Santa Fe.

“Walking through the streets of the town and seeing so many people that perhaps you didn’t see as a child, crying for the national team, it’s the best, it’s gratifying and this fills us with pride”, acknowledged the Albiceleste coach, who arrived in his hometown late Tuesday evening and was with his parents Ángel and Eulalia, and siblings Mauro and Corina, who will have a birthday this Thursday to continue with the festivities.

“It’s a victory for everyone, we would have loved to cross all of Argentina with the collective, because the North, South, East and West deserve it. Unfortunately it was not possible, but I hope everyone has been happy , because what we have experienced in these days we will carry forever in our hearts, we have created an unforgettable moment in our lives”, he assured from the stage.
