The mouth begins to solve its central problem. When everyone was talking about the novel by Sergio Barreto, the defender of Independiente, the Xeneize surprised with the word of mouth about the incorporation of Bruno Valdez who arrives free from America from Mexico.

The defender, who had not been taken into consideration in the Eagles, had already organized his departure from the Mexican giant and had advanced the negotiations to move to Cruzeiro de Belo Horizonte, Ronaldo’s team.

But Boca called and the Paraguayan was seduced by the proposal from Riquelme and company. It took the player a couple of hours to say yes to the Xeneize leaders and agree to travel to Buenos Aires.

After the injury of Marcos Rojo and the farewell of Carlos Zambrano, Boca go on the market to strengthen their central defence. The first who called was Lucas Merolla, but when they heard what Huracán was asking for, they didn’t call again. Subsequently the novel was started by Sergio Barreto and the names were added: Federico Fernández (Elche), the Peruvian Alexander Callens (free from New York City, from the MLS) and Bruno Valdez himself.

Ultimately all roads lead to the 30-year-old Paraguayan defender. Valdez started his career at Sol de América where he played 97 games in three years and scored five goals. From there he moved to Cerro Porteño and was subsequently acquired by América de México where he appeared on the pitch 227 times and scored 27 goals. It is worth saying that so far in the 2022/2023 season he has played only 8 games.

Valdez will undergo a medical checkup this Monday and then sign his contract until December 2025.
