The BBC offered this Wednesday an apology for the noise typical of a pornographic film which rang out on the air during the live broadcast of a game of England cupapparently from a phone some prankster had hidden in the study.
The noises interrupted the coverage, led by the former England striker Gary LinekerWorld Cup goalscorer in Mexico 86 which he crowned Diego Maradonabefore the game this tuesday between wolverhampton Y Liverpool at the Molineux stadium.
Through his active Twitter account, Lineker posted an image of a mobile phone which he said was “stuck to the back of the television” inside the stadium.
“To the extent that sabotage can be, this was pretty funnysaid Lineker, a devotee of Maradona and Lionel Messi.
The BBC, however, didn’t find it all that funny.
“We apologize to all viewers who felt offended during tonight’s live football”the chain said in a statement.
A self-described prankster Youtubewho is called “Garvo”, released a tweet in which he claimed responsibility for the incident. He posted a video of himself appearing dialing his phone to activate the sounds.
Jarvo, whose real name is Daniel Jarviswas banned from all sporting events in England and Wales for two years in October after stepping down during an England-India cricket match in September 2021 and shoving England batsman Jonny Bairstow.
