Overcoming injury, Brazilian Rayssa Leal shines in the final of the Skate Street World Championship at the age of 15

This Sunday morning, the 5th, the skater Rayssa Leal (15) showed everyone why her nickname is Fadinha! After a worrying week, and on Thursday, the 2nd, she ended up going to the hospital to undergo tests on her wrist after a fall in training, the young skate street prodigy won the world title in Sharjah, in the United Arab Emirates United.

With a total score of 255.58, the little girl from Maranhão took one of the biggest titles of her career, so short but already so exceptional, and, just three months ago, she won the gold medal in the Street League Super Crown.

This Sunday’s competition still had the presence of two other Brazilians, pamela rosawhich ended up in the eighth and last place, with only 126.52 points, and Gabi Mazettowhich ranked sixth with 221.45.

The podium of the world competition, which is important to add points for the classification for the Paris 2024 Olympics, also featured the Australian Chloe Covellwho is only 12 years old, in second place, while the third position went to the current Olympic champion Nishiya Momiji.

Divided into two parts, the final of the World Championship starts with laps, where Rayssa was third, with a score of 83.82. She was behind only the other two skaters who made up the podium until the end alongside the Maranhão. But it was in the solo maneuvers that Fadinha shone, with a back flip board worth 87.22, the highest score on the day of the competition, writing an important chapter in the history of Brazilian skateboarding.

For the two Brazilians who were lower in the competition, they will still have more chances to add points to compose the skate street squad in the Olympics, in the Pro Tour of Rome, which takes place from June 18 to 26, in Rome, Italy.
