After returning from Córdoba with a great triumph against Talleres on the first date, Leandro Stillitano experienced the bank’s local debut Independent and it wasn’t exactly an afternoon with a happy ending. The ‘Rossa’ lost against Platense and the fervor of the more than 45,000 fans who packed the pitch in Avellaneda was dampened by that 1-2 final.

The evaluation is negative because the result is not what we wanted. There are things to improve and fix. But I always look at the glass half full and there are positive things. Let’s not forget that except Juanito Cazares, Rodrigo Rey and Javier Baez are all players afterwards very young. These matches are tough. The opponent arrived in two situations and we were unable to find an equaliser”, the Diablo coach began with his conclusions.

And he continued: “We had a lack of coordination which cost us the match. We lacked depth in the first half, but I think the second half was different and with the substitutions we wanted to continue attacking.”

Stillitano referred to the picture presented by the LoA-Ricardo Enrique Bochini and if playing in a full stadium can be a double-edged sword for a team with so many young players: “I don’t think the picture in a full stadium weighed because the team He played like we trained, attacked and searched until the last minute. Since Wednesday, we have been talking about this issue, which the people of Independiente are very demanding. But when the match was over there was some applause that made me it makes you happy because the players gave everything to get a result that we weren’t given. It was wonderful to experience what we experienced today with a full stadium. This must be capitalized in our favor”.

Captain Iván Marcone had a suspension date due to his sending-off against T and will be able to return next week, against Vélez a Liniers. Did you miss Independiente on Sunday afternoon? “Javier Baez played from the start because otherwise we didn’t have many experienced players in Iván’s absence. Obviously we miss Marcone because his thermometer on the pitch is very important ”, replied a calm Stillitano beyond his first defeat of the cycle.
