Ecuador, in conflict with Alfaro for a millionaire debt and behind two Argentine DTs to replace it

THE Ecuadorian Football Federation (FEF) He failed to pay off the outstanding financial debt with the Argentine coach Gustavo Alfaro nor does it offer any signs of reaching an agreement to hire a new coach.

While the FEF board indicated in its recent financial report to club and association directors that it maintains a $290,000 debt to Alfaro, he and his assistants claim a balance close to three million dollars.

Nor has the recent denunciation of the life president of Mushuc Runa, Luis Alfonso Chango, been clarified.

“Three months ago the Ecuadorian Cup ended and we still haven’t received $130,000 for our team’s participation,” said Chango, who told reporters that other teams are in the same situation.

Alfaro disassociated himself from the Ecuadorian team after his participation in the Qatar World Cup 2022 and the president of the Ecuadorian Football Federation, Francisco Egas, said that the successor would already have been signed for the date of the teams’ friendlies in March.

The local press assumes that the two main candidates for the office are Argentines Ricardo Gareca AND sebastian woodcock.

Gareca was in charge of Peru’s squad for seven years, in which he qualified Blanquirroja for the 2018 World Cup in Russia and was about to do the same for Qatar 2022, but lost in the playoffs to Australia.

Beccacece, for his part, left Defense and Justice in September last year awaiting an offer from foreign football. As technical assistant to Jorge Sampaoli, he worked with the Chilean national team and later Argentina, in what would be his first experience as head coach in that type of position.
