PSG has no peace. Qatar’s regular results after the World Cup have given way to injuries to its two star stars (Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé) and, this Saturday ahead of the visit to Munich for Ligue 1 and days before facing Bayern Munich for Champions League round of 16 final, added another problem: A stomach virus is reported to have affected several soccer players on campus.
As reported by the chain RMC Sports, the delegation of the Parisian team arrived in the south of the country and remained in the hours before the crossing with the Monegasques in a location between Nice and Monaco. The game will start at 13:00 (Argentina time), with television on the Star+ platform.
But during Saturday morning some players were hit by an intestinal virus. Symptoms? Vomiting, stomach pains and tiredness.
The extent of this virus is not yet known, but coach Christophe Galtier would be forced to review his plans and the composition of the starting eleven.
Mbappé’s muscle injury ten days ago was joined by Lionel Messi’s injury last Wednesday. According to the medical report released by the Parisian club, Leo hit the hamstring area, in the hamstrings.
He will rest until next Sunday with the expectation of returning to training “for Monday”, one day before the first leg against Bayern Munich of Germany at the Parco dei Principi.
Messi’s injury is a new blow for coach Christophe Galtier, who already knows that in the two key matches against Bayern he will not be able to count on Kylian Mbappé, who has been hit by a thigh injury in his left leg, affecting the bicep femoris, which he suffered last week in a match against Montpellier and which will require three weeks to recover.
Despite this outlook, Galtier was optimistic Friday, especially when consulted on Leo’s situation. “Is Messi a doubt against Bayern Munich? He won’t be against Munich, but he will return to training this Monday. The term ‘doubt’ can be withdrawn”, assured the DT during the usual press conference on the eve of each match.
Neymar’s parties
Neymar’s parties at his villa in the small town of Bougival on the outskirts of Paris exasperate many of his neighbors and this was made clear at his 31st birthday celebration last Sunday, when some of them called the police to ask to stop the noise.
The newspaper the Parisians published this Saturday an extensive report in which the mayor of Bougival himself, Luca Wattellewho has his home near that of the Brazilian star PSG, complains about what he describes as “an individual without respect” from the neighbors.
“It wasn’t just background music, it was prodigiously annoying”explained Wattelle, who insists it wasn’t the first time Neymar made himself known.
In particular, he points out that when he organized another party to celebrate PSG’s victory in the French championship, it lasted “until 5” in the morning.
The mayor feels helpless in the face of this situation because for the Brazilian international a the 135 euro fine for lack of civility has no effecttaking into account his salary.
“At a certain point we will open proceedings before the Public Prosecutor’s Office for repeated disruption of public order”he warned.
Last Sunday, in the early afternoon, a neighbor of the five-storey residence that Neymar has occupied since arriving at PSG in 2017 warned that something was being prepared on a Facebook account used to share information with other residents of the neighborhood.
The tone of the messages grew as the hours went by and some decided to call the police, first the Municipal Police and then the State Police.
The officers who arrived told them that the party would end at 21:00, but the testimonies collected by Le Parisien state that at 23:45 the sound was still heard. “Happy birthday!”.
