Argentina Open, day 5: with attention on Carlos Alcaraz and hope on Fran Cerúndolo, the quarter-finals are being played

He ATP 250 Argentina Open reaches its climax, with the four quarter-final matches defining the four semi-finalists. Overall favorite Carlos Alcaraz will be the day’s big draw at the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club but the expectation of the local public will be placed on Fran Cerúndolo, the 1st in the country, who seeks to advance to the next stage, where he would collide with the Spaniard.

Finally, at the end of a day full of tennis, Francisco Cerúndolo will try to “avenge” Diego Schwartzman when he comes up against Spain’s Bernabé Zapata Miralles, whom he surprised on Thursday by easily beating Peque.

If Alcaraz and Cerúndolo win their respective duels, they will meet in the semi-finals to be held on Saturday, in what is shaping up to be one of the most important events on the weekend’s sporting agenda.
