Tiger Woods has been the protagonist of a situation that has caused amazement and criticism in the golf world. It turns out that the 47-year-old player jokingly gave Justin Thomas, his friend and playmate, a tampon. Though he tried to do it as discreetly as possible, he was caught on camera and quickly generated a lot of controversy on social media.
In what was Woods’ return to the PGA Tour, he handed the toiletry product to Thomas immediately after opening the ninth hole at the Genesis Invitational.in an attempted joke that was considered sexist by commentators and social media users.
Obviously Thomas was not expecting this situation and to his surprise, he immediately dropped the product on the grass while Tiger laughed next to him and hugged him as they both walked towards the hole.
Woods, who is managing his appearances hard due to the physical aftermath of his 2021 car accident, he finished his first round at the Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles with a 69-under par for two, five behind the lead.
After the tour, the 15-time Grand Slam winner did not comment on the episode with Thomas, but said he enjoyed sharing the day with American and Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy.
