The Nanterre public prosecutor’s office had opened an investigation against Hakimi after the alleged victim showed up at the Nogent-sur-Marne police station last weekend and told the facts, although without filing a complaint.

According to her testimony, the young woman had come into contact with the footballer on January 16 through social media and, last Saturday, on the eve of the decisive championship duel for her team against Olympique de Marseille, which the Moroccan lost due to injury , invited her to his home in Boulogne-Billancourt, on the outskirts of Paris.

The woman boarded an Uber requested by the footballer and, once home, has overstepped: He kissed her on the lips despite her refusal, lifted her clothes and kissed her breasts and even inserted his fingers into her vagina, and this even though she resisted, according to his version.

The girl pointed out that she managed to get rid of her attacker with a kick and sent a message to a friend, who immediately went looking for her and rescued her.

Upon learning of the footballer’s formal charge, his solicitor, Fanny Colin, released a statement emphasizing it his client ‘strongly denies the allegations’ and arguing that indictment is an automatic step in this class of cases that will allow them “a chance to defend themselves.”

“He refused to file a complaint, refused to undergo the minimum medical and psychological examination and refused a confrontation with Achraf Hakimi, for whom the accusation is based solely on his statements”, underlined the lawyer in the message to which the agency was logged in . EFE extension. According to Colin, in fact, Hakimi is being “subject of an attempted blackmail”.

In response, the young woman’s lawyer (whose name has not been made public), Rachel-Flore Pardo, warned that they will not tolerate any “campaign of denigration or destabilization against them, as unfortunately continues to happen too often to women who have the courage to denounce acts of rape”.

“We specify that an indictment is never automatic. In the specific case, its continuation demonstrates that the investigating judge considered that there were serious and concordant indications of the commission of the crime of rape of which my client is the victim, ” highlighted Pardo . in a comment sent to EFE.

News of the indictment came to light this Friday morning, as Hakimi joined PSG’s squad training for the first time since his injury.

In the usual press conference before the next day of the French championship, in which PSG, leaders, face Nantes, the coach of the Parisian team, Christophe Galtier, has refused to comment on the legal situation of the Moroccan international.

“I don’t answer any questions about the non-sporting aspects of Achraf Hakimi”Galtier said, before adding that “the club has already communicated the situation”, in reference to the fact that when it became known earlier in the week that the player was under investigation, he showed support for the defender and expressed his confidence in the injustice .

Galtier limited himself to confirming that Hakimi participated in training with the group and that he plans to handle the situation “normally”.

When asked about the atmosphere in training, the coach said the players were “serious” about “preparing the match” for matchday 26 of the championship.

He added that he hoped Hakimi would be available for Wednesday’s crucial Champions League second leg against Bayern Munich, although the Moroccan defender, born in Madrid in 1998, will not play this weekend’s fixture against Nantes as it is in the works.
