Luis “el Hacha” Ludueña has died, a former footballer of the 70s who shone and became an idol in Talleres but who was a symbol of Argentine football. The news came out this morning from that province, the unforgettable “Hacha” was just 69 years old and worked at the local club San Lorenzo, where he began his career.
Ludueña was one of those players who are always mentioned when talking about the golden era of Argentine football. And he was excluded from the ’78 World Cup due to a serious injury, when he was being examined by César Luis Menotti: he cut a tendon in his foot a day before the concentration of the team that would have been champions.
His football career sees him as the protagonist of a historic match. He was the author of the goal in Talleres’ 1-0 triumph over Argentinos Juniors at La Paternal, for Nacional 1976, on October 20, 1976, the afternoon of Diego Maradona’s debut.
