Indian Wells, day 6: Francisco Cerúndolo and Sebastián Báez look for the round of 16 against two very tough rivals

The Argentines Francis Cerundolo AND Sebastian Baez This Monday they are looking for a pass to the round of 16 of Indian Wells, the Californian tournament that opens the Masters 1000 series on the professional tennis circuit.

Cerúndolo, world number 32 and currently first Argentine racket, will appear at 15:00 against the Canadian Felix Auger Alissiameeighth favorite of the tournament.

The Canadian has already beaten Cerúndolo this year in the third round of the Australian Open in the only record he has in the ATP group. If he progresses to the round, the player from Buenos Aires will wait for the Pole Hubert Hurkacz or the American tomi paolo.

For his part, Báez will play against the local Taylor Fritz -seeded fourth- in the third round of the day, not before 18:00

The Argentine will fight for his first victory against a rival who had already beaten him at the 2022 Cincinnati Masters and who is currently having the best moment of his career. This year the Californian won the United Cup and the ATP in Delray Beach and was a semifinalist in Dallas and Acapulco Whoever wins that key will face Slovakian Alex Molcan or Hungarian Marton Fucsovics in the next instance.

The Indian Wells Masters 1000 is played on hard courts with a prize pool of $8.8 million. Juan Martín Del Potro of Tandil, in 2018, was the only Argentine to have won it in its history.
