With prominent Argentine and foreign specialists as speakers, ISALUD University held a conference on “Responsible and sustainable sport”. The need to see sport as tool for well-being and transformation and its contribution to a more sustainable worldwere some of the pertinent conclusions.
Opening, the honorary rector of ISALUD, Gines Gonzalez Garciacoincided with the Argentine ambassador to Brazil and former powerboating champion Daniel Scioli, in the assessment of physical activity: “Back to sport as a school of life It is more than important for health, order life, teaches values and contributes to better well-being. To do this, we have to incorporate the new tools that are there to transform realities.”
Charles Murillouniversity professor and president of the Spanish Society of Sport Economics, reflected by his personal experience as coach of Barcelona Football Club.
“There are three elements that condition and guide what should be a healthy governance of a sports entity: technology, environmental sustainability and territory“, he remarked.
“The ecosystem that circulates around sport is important and the more and better we can include physical activity or sport in people, the more we will contribute to generating a more sustainable world with the use of recyclable material,” he added.
Giorgiolina Bertoni, sociologist and former world champion in field hockey with Las Leonas, he stressed the importance of neighborhood clubs in the development of public policies.
“Clubs need to be there because in the face of such sustained progress as we are seeing in sedentary lifestyles, a high prevalence of obesity and overweight in children and adults, a change in life and sport in schools becomes ever more urgentand in the clubs they have a lot to say about this” he said.
