Lionel Andres Messi will leave an eternal legacy in Argentine football and the Association has given him a unique recognition: this Saturday at the Ezeiza stadium, the president, Claudio Chiqui Tapiaconducted an act in tribute to the captain of the Argentina national team and unveiled a plaque to announce that the “Housing Complex” will now bear the name of the Rosario star.
After Tapia’s presentation, Messi took the microphone and in front of all his teammates and other Argentine football executives invited to the event (there were, among others, Mariano Andújar, Sergio Romero and Marcos Rojo) he thanked with great emotion for the recognition.
“I’ve been coming to this facility for almost 20 years and from the first day I felt something special. And I still feel it today. I think I’ve had some very bad times with the national team, very hard times. But it was arriving here and feeling happiness for being in this place. And I still feel it. That’s why I’m very happy that this place will bear my name. I think the recognition is done in life and passing by here and knowing that this place that will be called Lionel Andrés Messi is something very cute,” said the Flea.
