In Bologna, Italy the Sinner-Berrettini generation will host outgoing finalists Croatia, Argentina and Sweden. In Glasgow, Great Britain will host the United States, Kazakhstan and the Netherlands. In Hamburg, France will face Germany, Belgium and Australia.

The first two in each group will qualify for the knockout quarter-finals, which will be held at the end of November and organized in Malaga in 2022 and 2023.

The final stage of the new Davis Cup formula, developed since 2019 and until now debated in one block, at the end of the season, is divided at this time into two stages: a group stage with 16 teams, mid of September in 4 cities, then the big closing of the week, with 8 teams in Malaga.

Initially selected as one of the four host cities of the group stage, Malaga, which was finally selected to present the final knockout phase, was replaced by Valencia, the International Tennis Federation (ITF) announced before the draw.

Madrid hosted the first two editions of the Davis Cup in 2019 and 2021.

Russia’s trophy holders were not included in the competition due to the invasion of Ukraine.
