As a result of these suspicions, the State Court No. 2 of actions relating to offenses committed by criminal organization and money laundering or concealment of assets, rights and securities issued three preventive arrest warrants and 20 search warrants which are still being implemented in 16 municipalities in six states.

The investigations began at the end of last year, after Vila Nova midfielder Romário confessed that received 150,000 reais in exchange for committing a penalty in the match against Sport Recife for the Serie B championship.

In addition to Lomónaco and the other three local footballers mentioned, the Brazilian Justice also has five other players in its sights for these events.
