The 21-year-old Italian will play his next match in the round of 16 against Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka (36), who beat Belgian David Goffin (99) 6-1, 7-5.

The match, which is played on the clay court of the Real Club de Tenis de Barcelona, ​​offers prizes totaling 2,872,435 euros and sees the defending champion, Carlos Alcaraz (2), will then have the presentation of two other Argentine tennis players: Francisco Cerúndolo and Pedro Cachín.

Cerúndolo (32) will start directly in the second round against the Italian Francesco Passaro (130), who yesterday beat the Spanish Fernando Verdasco (239) in the opening round with a comfortable 6-1 and 6-1.

Cachín of Cordoba, who yesterday also beat the Dutch Gils Brouwner (116) in the opening round, will face the second favorite for the title: the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas (3).

The Comte de Godó has had two Argentine champions throughout its history: Martín Jaite in 1987 and Gastón Gaudio in 2002.
