atypical. In this way we could define the collection led by Santiago Maratea to help Independiente to be able to pay its debts and restore its economy. Of course, the influencer has no previous relationship with the institution, but through the trust he is a trustee, he is raising a large sum of money in record time.

Tuesday 2 early they were 607 million pesos that had been raiseda figure that for now is far from covering all the financial holes that the Avellaneda institute has, whose total debt amounts to 23 million dollars, most of which is the result of the management of Hugo Moyano.

There are numerous pending payments, some larger than others, but priority is given to settling a specific account: the $5.7 million owed to América de México by Cecilio Domínguez. Why? Because this debt with the Mexican club causes the inhibition of the club, a measure that threatens not only the possibility of incorporation, but also prohibits young people over the age of 15, incorporated earlier this year, from being able to perform in the their respective categories.

This week, Claudio Levy, Maratea’s legal adviser, spoke to Radio Miter and provided some legal details. “It’s a simple contract. The trustee is Pepé Santoro, who contributed 32,000 pesos to set up the trust. The trustee is Maratea. There is nothing strange”He explained.

And he clarified that Independiente has no say or vote when it comes to making decisions with money: “Independiente is not part of the contract; beneficiaries are those clubs to which money is owed.”

For his part, Maratea announced that Mexico’s debt to America would be the first to be cancelled. Of course, first it will be necessary to reach that figure, a task that will not be easy but which they aim to achieve. At the official value, those 7.5 million dollars would be equivalent to about 1,300 million pesos: more than double the amount collected.

From Independiente they are optimistic and do not think of alternatives. The collection has just begun and other ideas are being promoted to join this solidarity campaign which intends to start saving Independiente from the economic chaos into which it has sunk.
