Shock at polo: Rafael Pando, cousin of Adolfo Cambiaso and brother-in-law of Ginette Reynal, died after a game

Pain envelops the world of polo: Raphael Pando, 55, died this Friday after suffering cardiac arrest after playing a match for the Cañuelas City Cup. He was cousin of Adolfo Cambiaso and played with his son bean.

This Friday afternoon he had appeared with his team, La Plegaria, in a tournament played at the La Dolfina club together with Adolfito “Poroto” Cambiaso, Tarlosky and Gagliardi. But when he returned to the palenques after the end of the match he felt ill.

Blood pressure in his back dropped and he had difficulty breathing when medics assisted him in the ambulance set up on the property.

From there he was transferred to a clinic at the intersection of Route 6 and 205, where they were unable to revive him. His body was then transferred to the La Plata morgue for an autopsy.

“Ciao Raffaele. We will miss you very much. Thanks for all the beautiful memories you leave us. A big hug to all the dearest Pando family”, the La Dolfina team greeted him on social media.

Both Adolfito and Poroto Cambiasso used their Instagram accounts to remember Pando. “We love you,” wrote the best Argentine polo player in history.

In addition to being Adolfo Cambiaso’s cousin, Rafael Pando was the brother-in-law of ginette reynalwho in 1996 married Miguel Pando, who died at 44 from cancer.

As a player he has never played in a Triple Crown but has played in the Cup of the Chamber of Deputies, which is also held in Palermo and is of a high category. In addition, he worked extensively in the Jockey Club and competed in England, France and Spain.

He was now president of the Guardia del Monte club and lived on the family farm La Plegaria, where he had his horses and calf. Even his children were tied to the pole; in fact Rafita recently won the Copa de las Estancias with Poroto Cambiaso.
