Were it for the 33-year-old from La Plata, he would have already returned to court. Furthermore, he would like to be available for Wednesday’s duel against Pereira as a guest. However, the technician takes it little by little. And, as he discovered clarionat the end of the month or during the first week of June he will return to the ring after more than 200 days.

After the duel with the Colombian team there will be two matches that could mark his return: against Tigre on 28 June against Arsenal on 1 June in Sarandí. Another possibility is Colo Colo for the fifth date of the group stage of the Copa Libertadores or Lanús, for the 20th day of the Lega Professionisti. That would be the most prudent. “It will be evaluated day by day,” say the coaching staff.

Rojo was injured on 12 October in Junín during the duel in which Boca beat Sarmiento 1-0. Five days later he underwent surgery. Since then he has done whatever it takes to get back to playing. He’s anxious, but the doctors don’t want to rush him.

This Tuesday he was part of central defense alongside Nicolás Valentini, who was unable to be present against Belgrano on Sunday due to his expulsion in the Superclásico. Almirón has outlined a training session for those players who didn’t have any activity over the weekend. He knows there’s a series of games coming up every three days and he wants everyone to be alert, ready to play.
