The big winner of the night was, without a doubt, the San Antonio Spurs, who took first place and should choose Victor Wembanyama to be part of the roster starting next season. The Frenchman will leave French top professional league side Boulogne-Levallois and, starting in June, will join his new basketball team in the United States.

It is the third time in history that the Texan team has won the lottery. In 1987 they selected David Robinson and in 1997 Tim Duncan (he played 14 seasons alongside Manu Ginóbili).

However, Wembanyama promises to be different from everyone. Today, the Frenchman is the most coveted basketball player by all clubs. For this reason, many believe that he could become one of the greatest basketball appearances of the last decades.

It should be noted that the Frenchman is 19 years old, measures 2.21 meters, and has already been praised by Lebron James, Stephen Curry and Giannis Antetokounmpo, who have nicknamed them: “Unicorn”, “alien” or “video game player”.

Even the commissioner of the American basketball league, Adam Silver, was optimistic about Wembanyama’s arrival in the NBA: “He’s 19 and I haven’t used tape measure or tape measure or whatever is used in France, but yes, I seemed to be seven feet four inches … It is clear that he seems like a once-in-a-lifetime talent.
