Thebes’ answer

Javier Tebas, president of La Liga, assured this Sunday that “neither Spain nor La Liga are racist”, in response to a message from the Brazilian Vinícius Junior in which the Brazilian Real Madrid player assured that the image of the competition “trembles “. that the leader, instead of criticizing the racists, rails against him.

“Instead of criticizing racists, the president of La Liga appears on social media to attack me. No matter how much he talks and pretends not to read, the image of his championship falters”Vinícius replied in a chain of tweets with Tebas on Sunday evening after the incidents that took place in Mestalla, where the forward identified a fan who insulted him from the stands and referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoechea activated the anti-racism protocol.

The president of La Liga has once again publicly responded to the Real Madrid footballer and his allegations with four points in his arguments. “Neither Spain nor LaLiga are racist, it’s very unfair to say that”start.

“From LaLiga we denounce and persecute racism with all the harshness in our power. This season, racist insults have been reported 9 times (8 of them were for insults against Vinícius). We always identify the lunatics and move the complaint to the sanctioning bodies. No matter how few they are, we are always relentless,” she added.

Finally, Thebes defended the work done in La Liga, which increased the presence of stadium staff to report insults, inconsiderateness towards the rival and any accident that occurs in the stands. Double the attendance of staff in Real Madrid matches after what Vinícius experienced in various cities.

“We cannot allow the image of a competition to be tarnished which is above all a symbol of unity between peoples, where more than 200 black players in 42 clubs receive the respect and affection of all the fans every day, as racism a very specific case (9 complaints) that we will eliminate,” he said.
