As in the Qatar final, the Polish Marciniak will manage Manchester City – Inter in Istanbul

On June 10, when there are just eight days left to the six months of the consecration of the Argentina national team in the World Cup played in Qatar, Giuliano Alvarez AND Lautaro Martinez they will meet the Polish referee again Szymon Marciniak, charged with doing justice on December 18, 2022 in the World Cup final. This Monday, the Fifa announced that the Polish judge will be the referee of the final of Champions League which they will dispute Manchester City AND Inter in Milan at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey, which will host the Argentines.

After his great performance as referee in the final of the ecumenical tournament held in 2022, where he did not play a leading role and managed the match prudently, achieving a normal development of the game which ended up decreeing the third world title for the Argentine national team, FIFA has once again put its trust in Marciniak’s work and named him the one who will do justice in the final of Europe’s most prestigious trophy, which will take place on 10 June in Istanbul.

There the referee will meet Julián and Lautaro again, two protagonists of the Selection commanded by Lionel Scalonibut in a totally different context where Araña will defend the Manchester City shirt and El Toro that of Inter.

In addition to his presence in the final that Argentina beat the French team at the Lusail stadium, the Argentines have a reference to the Polish referee as he participated in the victory for 4-0 of the citizens in view of real Madrid for the semi-finals of the tournament and the second leg of the round of 16 for Inter against Port of Portugal which ended with the score at zero.

To complete the roster of referees, FIFA has appointed Poles Pawel Sokolnicki (assistant 1) and Tomasz Listkiewicz (assistant 2) and Romanian Istvan Kovacs (fourth referee) to accompany Marciniak.
