One of the managers of the River bar was injured in Lima after a clash with the police

In the middle of the first half of the match against Sporting Cristal for the Copa Libertadores, The River bar got into a violent confrontation with the Peruvian police. There, Ariel Calvici, one of the leaders of The drunkards of the council, was injured with a deep cut that left him bleeding. In addition, there have been other fans who have also suffered repression by security officials at the Lima stadium.

The members of the River bar wanted to mediate between the Peruvian police and members of the Lima del Millonario affiliate, who had been interdicted. Neither stock was on good terms.

According to the news portal Infobae, members of the Peruvian branch of River carried out riots and when police tried to calm them down, one officer reportedly slipped. When he fell to the ground, the fans kicked him. This episode would have been the trigger for the confrontation.
