Walewska Oliveira’s short message to her husband before she died is revealed by website
The former volleyball player Walewska OliveiraHe died last week after falling from the 17th floor of the building where he lived. During the police investigation it was revealed that she sent a message to her husband, Ricardo Alexandre Mendes, just minutes before the tragedy. Now, the UOL website has revealed what she wrote to him in her last moments of life.
According to the UOL report published this Monday, the 25th, she wrote a short message to her husband via a messaging app. She said: “I love you. But, I think you’ve already made your decision”. Then he replied: “I love you too”.
The message would be a reference to the crisis in the relationship that the two were experiencing after 20 years of marriage. According to Ricardo, he had asked for a divorce and they had a conversation the night before. “She questioned me that I was strange and distant, I replied that I couldn’t continue where there was no more love between a man and a woman. She became introspective, kept quiet and we went to sleep. We loved each other, I hoped she would accept the separation in a good way.”, he said.
And he also revealed how he found out about her death. “I arrived home after an intense day of work, I didn’t know that Wal had already arrived. The intercom rang, I didn’t answer it. Then came the messages on Whatsapp from the condominium group, until the manager rang the doorbell at my house to warn me of the tragedy. My floor opened and I fell apart”, he told UOL.

How did Walewska’s death happen?
Former volleyball player and Olympic champion Walewska Oliveira passed away at the age of 43 on September 21, 2023. She fell from the 17th floor of the building where she lived in São Paulo and her body was found on the first floor of the property. The building team called rescue services to revive her, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. She would have left a farewell letter on a bond sheet. The investigation found that Walewska went to the 17th floor of the building alone, with a briefcase, her cell phone and a bottle of alcohol at around 4:05 pm. Her death would have occurred after 6pm. Her body was veiled and buried in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, in a ceremony restricted to the family and the widower was not present.
