Victoria Beckham speaks out for the first time about rumors that she was cheated on by David Beckham

The stylist and singer Victoria Beckham commented for the first time on rumors that her husband, former football player David Beckhamwould have had affairs with other women while playing for Real Madrid in 2003. In an excerpt from the documentary about the athlete on Netflix, she recalled the rumors of betrayal that appeared in the press at the time.

“It was the most difficult period for us because it felt like the world was against us. The problem was this: we were against each other, to be completely honest.”she said, and added: “I can’t even begin to tell you how hard it was and how it affected me”.

At the time, David lived alone in Madrid to play for the football team and Victoria stayed in England with her children. However, as a result of the rumors, she decided to move to Spain with her whole family. There, she said she was shaken by the press attention on her family. “It was a nightmare. From the minute we arrived, the press was there in cars and everywhere we went, we were followed. It was an absolute circus – it’s fun when the circus comes to town, right? Unless you’re in it”he joked.

David Beckham also spoke about rumors that he had cheated on his wife and how this affected their marriage. “There were some horrible stories that were difficult to deal with. It was the first time Victoria and I had faced this kind of pressure in our marriage. I think we both felt at that moment that we were not losing ourselves, but drowning. I don’t know how we got through it, in all honesty.”remembered.

And he added: “Victoria is everything to me, seeing her hurt was incredibly difficult, but we are fighters and at that moment we needed to fight for each other, for our family. And what we had was worth fighting for. There were days when I woke up and thought: ‘How am I going to work? How am I going to get on that field and train? How will I appear that there is nothing wrong? I felt physically sick every day when I opened my eyes”.

Finally, Victoria Beckham said that everything returned to normal in the family when they went to live in Los Angeles as he transferred to another football team. “I was very relieved to get out of such a complicated situation in Spain. LA was a place where everything was easier. Easier to find a house, easier to find schools, you don’t have the language barrier. And for me, all my dreams came true“, she said.
