The former goalkeeper and former candidate for the presidency of Paraguay Jose Luis Chilavert challenged this Friday to boxing fight Senator Basilio “Bachi” Núñez, who responded to him on social media, accepted the challenge.
The dispute between the two began after the Court sentenced Óscar Núñez, brother of congressman Bachi, to 11 years in prison for fraudulent administration as governor of the city of President Hayes.
“Since you look so good wearing gloves in the videos, prepare the ring at Villa Hayes and all proceeds will go to the Oncology department of the IPS (Social Security Institute). File the complaint if you have evidence. I have never asked for favors from the corrupt. Everything I have I earned by working; Not you, bandit”, attacked the former Vélez and San Lorenzo on X (formerly Twitter).
Núñez’s response came the same way: “I accept the boxing or UFC challenge, José Luis Chilavert. Whether in Luque, at the Stadium, 5 shifts and in two monthsso that you can enjoy your holidays.”
“The harvestI decide 50% where it goes and the remaining 50%. let it be for your rehabilitation“, complete.

Furthermore, he offered another, more peaceful path: “The other proposal is to sit down and discuss to build a Paraguay together and find common ground, without aggression”:
Shortly thereafter, Chilavert ratified the challenge in dialogue with AM 780 radio: “They are ruining the Constitution of Paraguay. They believe they own Paraguay. All relatives who live off the state. That’s why we come to this conclusion, in this challenge that I addressed to Bachi Núñez, he accepts and so do I. We will set the date, time and location. Will be a pleasure”.
“I don’t talk just to talk. The challenge is that the place will be defined. There will also be online betting, people will bet there, in their own way. And all my proceeds will go to the oncology department at IPS. I challenged him, he accepted, great, I’m going to the front. “I will prepare, we will see the ideal place”, she added.
Finally, he closed: “Obviously it depends on my fame. But it is also a way to show people that we are not afraid of these people who have always lived behind the state. The interesting thing is that, If justice doesn’t work, unfortunately this must be done to be able to demonstrate to the Paraguayan people that we, humble people who pay taxes, are not afraid of them.”
