For some years Luis Suárez has been carrying out an ambitious project in Uruguay. El Pistolero promoted the construction of the LS Sports City, an elite training center that aims to promote professionalism in the neighboring country and which, ultimately, would serve to realize a dream of the gunner: have a team in the Uruguayan First Division.
Located on the Camino de los Horneros, Ciudad de la Costa, LS Sports City is an eight-hectare property that has six pitches, as well as two synthetic mini-stadiums: one for 11-a-side football, with a capacity of 1,400 people, and another for 7-a-side football with a capacity of 620 spectators. It also offers all kinds of services: seating, boxes, changing rooms, parking, swimming pool, gym, restaurant and even has its own streaming system.
Suárez’s dream, they say in Uruguay, is to be able to bring a team to the First Division of his country. It won’t happen overnight (you should start the road from the Fourth and go up three times), but the intention is firm and the project is long-term. For now, LS Sports City is already a joint-stock company, which is common in the neighboring country: without going any further, Fernando Cavenaghi has just sold Racing de Montevideo to Bayern Munich, after two and a half years of management.
The Sports City was inaugurated in March this year, with the presence of a celestial football glory like Maestro Tabárez, and It currently has around 3 thousand members. Furthermore, the property is used by almost 700 youth categories, male and female, of all ages: football school, Under14, Sub16, Sub18 youth categories and senior categories.
“Everything I have experienced has been difficult and the idea of the Luis Suárez Complex is that children have the infrastructure to grow,” Suárez said on the day of the organization, very excited. The dream, more and more still.
Suarez will play with Messi in Miami
After saying goodbye to Gremio de Porto Alegre, it has been confirmed that Luis Suárez will move to the United States playing for his friend’s Inter Miami Lionel Messi, as well as other former Barcelona players such as Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba. El Pistolero, despite suffering from a chronic knee problem, had no qualms about being the figurehead of Brasileirao with an impressive flow of goals.
