Shock in the NBA: the Golden State assistant coach died after suffering a heart attack while concentrating

Milojevic had suffered the attack on Tuesday evening in Sant Lake City and was hospitalized and underwent emergency surgery in that city, but was unable to overcome the situation. Before the news of his death, due to his serious health conditions, spread, the NBA had already suspended the game that the Warriors were supposed to play tonight against the Jazz.

The Serbian has a 12-year playing career behind him, in which he played, among others, for Partizan Belgrade and Valencia in Spain. After retiring early in 2009 due to knee problems, he became coach in 2012. He joined the coaching staff of the Serbian national team as an assistant coach (he worked with a young Nikola Jokic) and after successfully moving from the bench of his country’s Mega Vizura and Montenegrin Buducnost in the summer of 2021, he ended up at the Warriors, who a year later they won the NBA.

His death shocked world basketball. The Valencian club released a statement to express its condolences to its player in the 2006/07 and 2007/08 seasons, in which he played 71 matches between the ACB League and the European Cup. Partizan also expressed its condolences to Milojevic’s family and friends.

“We are absolutely devastated by the sudden passing of Dejan Milojević,” Golden State wrote on social media. “This is a shocking and tragic blow to everyone associated with the Warriors and an incredibly difficult time for his family, his friends and all of us who had the incredible pleasure of working with him. We mourn with and for his wife , Natasa, and their children. children, Nikola and Masa”.
