Jordan, former owner of the Jordan Grand Prix team, currently Aston Martinhe came out in the last few hours to declare what the 2024 season of the top motorsport category will be like and who, in his opinion, will be the drivers who will fight with Max Verstappen for the long-awaited drivers’ championship.

The Irishman indicated Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc as the best candidates to fight for the title, while the Dutch Red Bull left two world champions, Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso, out of the fight. “I no longer trust Alonso and Lewis because of their age”Jordan said this while speaking to the German magazine Auto Bild, referring to the fact that due to everyone’s high age they will no longer be able to maintain the speed of Verstappen, decades younger.

It should be noted that Norris, the current figure of McLaren, has never fought for a championship, he also failed to obtain his first victory in the category since making his debut in the 2019 season. Charles Leclerc, for his part, lives another reality with 5 victories but has never fought for a championshipwhich suggests that Jordan miscalculated in predicting his candidates.

The Englishman from Mercedes and the Asturian from Aston Martin are from another championship and reality. Hamilton, from his debut in 2007 to today, is synonymous with glory, with the record of victories, he has 103 to his credit, 104 pole positions and 7 world championships, being together with Michael Schumacher the greatest winners in history.

Alonso also knows what greatness is given that he has two world championships to his credit, obtained in 2005 and 2006, he has 32 victories and 22 pole positions to his credit.

It is clear that we will have to wait until the end of the season to see if Eddie Jordan was right in making his statements or if he was still wrong.

Formula 1 presented its 2024 calendar with the longest season in its history
